Antique of the Week: Cambridge Rosepoint Glasses

As everyone in Kensington knows, Antique Row is one of the community’s points of pride. Howard Avenue and its side streets are lined with shops specializing in antique furniture, rugs, vintage toys, used books and more. This large presence in the community sparked our feature, Antique of the Week, where we will showcase a different item or curiosity each week to bring attention to pieces from the past.

This week, we’re featuring a set of six Cambridge Rosepoint glasses. From 1936 till 1953, the Cambridge Glass Company made glasses in crystal with a style known as Rosepoint. Rosepoint was, as its name suggests, roses intertwined around the crystal glass. The glasses were quite popular after the second World War. 

This set of glasses are from the 1940s, said Kate Taylor-Fine, proprietor of . They can be used for sherbet or to toast the New Year with your favorite champagne.
