The lottery for the 2013 White House Easter Egg Roll, in its 135th year, opens Feb. 21.
The ticket raffle for the wildly popular White House Easter Egg Roll starts Feb. 21. An online lottery system will distribute thousands of tickets for the 2013 White House Easter Egg Roll. The event is open to children ages 13 and younger and their families. This year’s White House Easter Egg Roll will take place on April 1 on the South Lawn of the White House. The lottery is open at 10 a.m. on Feb. 21. Signing up for the 2013 White House Easter Egg Roll lottery is free. The deadline for lottery entries is at 10 a.m. on Feb. 25. Lottery results will be available on March 1. You will need to create a free account at recreation.gov to be able to enter the lottery when it opens. First Canine gives a sneak peek at the 2012 White House Christmas decorations in new video.
Before some 90,000 people walk through the White House to see the 2012 Christmas decorations, Bo Obama, the dog in chief, gave a behind the scenes tour in a new video. “This year’s theme is ‘Joy to All.’ It celebrates the many joys of the holiday seasons: the joy of giving and service to others; the joy of sharing our blessings with one another; and, of course, the joy of welcoming our friends and families as guests into our homes over these next several weeks,” First Lady Michelle Obama said in a prepared statement. The 2012 Official White House Christmas tree is an 18-foot-6-inch Fraser Fir from Jefferson, N.C. Floreen will be joined by other regional officials to discuss their ideas for improving the economy.
As economic development takes center stage at the White House next week, Montgomery County Councilmember Nancy Floreen (D-At large) will join the discussion. White House officials want to share best practices between officials with regional development organization leaders and county officials. Floreen, who chairs the planning, housing and economic development committee, will bring her expertise to “Building Blocks for Economic Development and Job Growth” on Wednesday, Sept. 19. “We need all hands on deck to move our economic development agenda forward,” Councilmember Floreen said. “Federal, state and local governments must work together, and I’m glad to have been invited to be a part of these important conversations.” U.S. …
