Police say a student shoved another student into a school bathroom and stole money.
Montgomery County Police say a 16-year-old Walt Whitman High School student pushed a fellow student into a school bathroom and stole his money. The incident occurred Feb. 8. According to police spokeswoman Officer Rebecca Innocenti, the student and the victim, also a 16-year-old Whitman student, were walking down a school hallway around 7:44 a.m. when the boy grabbed the victim by his outer clothing and pushed him into a bathroom. Innocenti said the student searched through the victim's pockets and stole money. The student was arrested at school and brought to the Second District Police station for processing, Innocenti said. A woman was punched in the head after the suspects demanded cash, police said.
Three boys, ages 15 to 17, were charged in an attempted armed robbery on New Year’s Day in the White Flint area, Montgomery County police said Thursday. Officers responded to the 5800 block of Nicholson Lane in North Bethesda at 5:48 p.m. Tuesday for a report of a woman screaming. The 56-year-old woman left White Flint Mall and was walking along Nicholson Lane when three suspects approached her from behind and demanded cash, police said in a news release. One of the suspects punched the woman in the head, according to the release. When the woman screamed, the suspects fled. An armed robbery brought police to Glenmont Circle in the Wheaton-Glenmont area shortly after 7 p.m. on Saturday, according to the Montgomery County Police Department. The suspect appeared to be a man about 19 or 20 years old, wearing a black North Face jacket and armed with a handgun. He was last seen getting into a black vehicle heading eastbound on Randolph Road, police said. As of 8:30 p.m. on Saturday, police no longer were on the scene gathering information, police added. Police did not release what items—if any—were taken from the victim.

After the woman was assaulted, she noticed that cash was missing from her purse.
A woman was punched in the eye and robbed in the trash room of a Potomac apartment building Nov. 18, according to Montgomery County police. A 43-year-old woman was in the basement trash room of an apartment building in the 10500 block of Montrose Road around 6:30 p.m. when she noticed a man rummaging through the trash, according to police spokeswoman Officer Rebecca Innocenti. The woman asked the man if she could help him, and he turned and punched the woman in the eye, Innocenti said. The man then ran up the steps and fled the building, Innocenti said.
