John Johnson had gone missing from a care facility on Musgrove Road.
Update, Nov. 19: Johnson was located in Washington, D.C., safe and unharmed, according to police. Original post, Nov. 18: Montgomery County police are seeking the public's help in locating a 91-year-old man who went missing from the Calverton area of Silver Spring on Sunday. According to police, John Johnson was last seen at a care facility at 2501 Musgrove Road around 12:30 p.m. Johnson is described as 5' 8" 165-pound black male. He is said to be balding with gray hair on the sides of his head. At the time he was last seen, police said Johnson was wearing a black hat, a black jacket with white pin stripes, and black sweat pants. Gary Giordano, the Gaithersburg businessman suspected in the disappearance of North Bethesda woman Robyn Gardner, was released from an Aruban jail Tuesday evening, according to a report by the AP and ABC7. Giordano, 50, has been held on the Dutch Caribbean island since August, when he told authorities that Gardner, his 35-year-old traveling companion, had disappeared while snorkeling. Giordano remains a suspect in the case and could be extradited if a judge rules he should be held longer, according to the report. He was expected to head back to Maryland Wednesday morning. Gaithersburg man is held in connection with the disappearance of missing North Bethesda woman Robyn Gardner.
An Aruban judge has denied release for a Gaithersburg man held in connection with the disappearance of North Bethesda woman Robyn Gardner, CNN reports. Gary Giordano, 50, has been held in Aruba since Aug. 5. Giordano told authorities that Gardner, his traveling companion, disappeared while the two were on a snorkeling excursion. But since her disappearance, those close to Garnder have raised doubts about Giordano's story, and Aruban authorities have said Giordano took out a $1.5 million insurance policy on Gardner shortly before her disappearance. Giordano's lawyer argued in court Monday that authorities should release him because of a lack of evidence, but a judge denied the request, according to CNN. CNN is also reporting that Giordano …
