Silver Spring Cartoon Creator Named to Forbes '30 Under 30'

Rebecca Sugar will become the first woman to create a show for Cartoon Network.

Silver Spring native Rebecca Sugar is making a splash in the world of animation. The storyboard artist, writer and composer has received praise for her work on "Adventure Time," an Emmy-nominated show on Cartoon Network. Forbes recently named her to its "30 Under 30" Entertainment list. Sugar graduated from Montgomery Blair High School in 2005 and participated in the Visual Arts Center at Albert Einstein High School. She received the Ida F. Haimovicz Visual Arts Award, which is given to a Montgomery County high school senior intent on pursuing a visual arts career. She went to Blair for her academics,but Rebecca and Steven (Her younger brother) both graduate from the rigorous Visual Art Center program located at Albert Einstein High School.   more ›
