After 19 highly successful seasons running Bethesda-Chevy Chase High School's field hockey team, Coach Amy Wood is stepping down. During her time with the team, the team logged 10 state championships and 16 state tournament appearances, The Gazette reported, adding that Wood is leaving her coaching position to pursue a doctorate degree in pharmacy. The Albert Einstein High School field hockey team has been named the eighth seed in the Maryland Public Secondary Schools Athletic Association 3A West playoff bracket, and will open the single-elimination tournament at home against ninth-seeded Tuscarora on Tuesday. The winner of that game will face a daunting challenge in traveling to Carroll County to play first-seeded Westminster in the second round on Thursday.
