Linder, 65, of Kensington, as the driver whose mini-van rear-ended a flatbed truck in an early morning crash Tuesday on southbound Interstate 95 near the Fairfax County Parkway exit. Police are still investigating why a car traveling south on Connecticut Avenue in Chevy Chase Village hit a tree Tuesday morning, July 31. The Subaru Outback went off the right-hand side of the road and struck a tree, according to the Montgomery County Police Department. A car crash on Connecticut Avenue in Chevy Chase Village killed a woman and sent a man to the hospital on Tuesday, the Montgomery County Police Department reported on Twitter. The woman was a passenger in the car, and the man was driving the car at the time of the crash. A witness said that the car crashed into a tree, WAMU reported. The crash happened shortly before noon in the southbound lanes of Connecticut Avenue (Maryland state Route 185) near Irving Street (not far from Chevy Chase Village Hall), county police reported on Twitter. Updated, 2:35 p.m.: The northbound lanes of Connecticut Avenue at Weller Road are now clear after being closed for an hour due to a crash, Montgomery County Police said. Police couldn't provide details of the crash but said it resulted in non-life-threatening injuries and was cleared by 1:30 p.m. Original post, 12:49 p.m.: A crash on northbound Connecticut Avenue has has halted traffic in that direction at Weller Road, just north of Kensington, police said. Officers are on the scene dealing with a personal injury collision, Montgomery County Police spokeswoman Rebecca Innocenti said, and it's unclear when traffic flow will return to normal. Man was hit by three cars, police say.
Update, 3:30 p.m.: A 93-year-old man was killed in Kensington this morning after being struck by three cars on Newport Mill Road, police said. Semen Buslovich, of Kensington, was crossing Newport Mill Road near the Lawrence Avenue intersection at around 7 a.m. when he was hit by a car traveling southbound, according to Montgomery County Police. He was then struck by two more cars going northbound, police said. Buslovich was pronounced dead at the scene. None of the three drivers was injured in the crash, according to police, and all of them remained at the scene after the incident. Police are still investigating the crash and are asking anyone who witnessed it to call the Collision Reconstruction Unit at 301-840-2435. Original story, 8:50 …

Beltway was shut down for three hours this morning.
The Inner Loop of the Beltway was shut down at Connecticut Avenue this morning after a car collided with a tractor trailer, leaving one man dead, WTOP reported. The crash took place at around 2:15 a.m., according to WTOP, and State Police are yet to release the name of the man killed. While the Inner Loop has reopened after the crash, it's still short one lane thanks to construction near Georgia Avenue. Be sure to use our live traffic map for updates on crashes and delays.
