Police: Armed Robbery At Montgomery Mall May Have Been Drug-Related

Four men threatened a male victim with a handgun near a mall stairwell Feb. 21, according to a police spokeswoman.

An armed robbery at the Westfield Montgomery Mall Feb. 21 may have been drug-related, according to Mongomery County police. Four men threatened another man with a handgun near a mall stairwell, according to police spokeswoman Angela Cruz. The robbery, which happened around 7:30 p.m., did not happen inside a store, Cruz said. The men stole property from the victim, according to a recent crime summary.

Man Arrested For Series Of Robberies In Wheaton, Montgomery County

A 52-year-old Germantown man was arrested for 10 commercial robberies and two street robberies in Montgomery County.

A Germantown man suspected of 10 commercial robberies and two street robberies in Montgomery County — including five in the Wheaton and Glenmont areas — was arrested during a traffic stop in Gaithersburg Feb. 17, Montgomery County police announced Wednesday. Duane James, 52, of the 18600 block of Mustard Seed Court, was charged with two counts of armed robbery, having a handgun in a vehicle and the use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, police said. After his arrest, James was charged with nine additional armed robbery charges and three first-degree assault charges. UPDATE: Police Investigate Armed Robbery in Wheaton Sunday Afternoon

Police are searching for the suspects.

Update, Jan. 7, 11:31 a.m. There was an armed robbery at the AT&T store in Wheaton at 11427 Georgia Avenue Sunday afternoon, according to Montgomery County police. Two male suspects, both armed with guns, came inside the store, police spokesperson Angela Cruz said. The robbery occurred shortly before 5 p.m. Original story, Jan. 6, 5:24 p.m. Montgomery County police are investigating a possible armed robbery Sunday afternoon in the 11400 block of Georgia Avenue. Police spokesperson Melissa Valerio said that the call came in at 4:48 p.m. Sunday. Two male suspects were involved and one was armed with a gun, she said. More updates to come.

Three Boys Charged in Attempted New Year's Day Armed Robbery Near White Flint Mall

A woman was punched in the head after the suspects demanded cash, police said.

Three boys, ages 15 to 17, were charged in an attempted armed robbery on New Year’s Day in the White Flint area, Montgomery County police said Thursday. Officers responded to the 5800 block of Nicholson Lane in North Bethesda at 5:48 p.m. Tuesday for a report of a woman screaming. The 56-year-old woman left White Flint Mall and was walking along Nicholson Lane when three suspects approached her from behind and demanded cash, police said in a news release. One of the suspects punched the woman in the head, according to the release. When the woman screamed, the suspects fled. Armed Robbery at Glenmont Circle

The robbery took place around 7 p.m. on Saturday.

An armed robbery brought police to Glenmont Circle in the Wheaton-Glenmont area shortly after 7 p.m. on Saturday, according to the Montgomery County Police Department. The suspect appeared to be a man about 19 or 20 years old, wearing a black North Face jacket and armed with a handgun. He was last seen getting into a black vehicle heading eastbound on Randolph Road, police said. As of 8:30 p.m. on Saturday, police no longer were on the scene gathering information, police added. Police did not release what items—if any—were taken from the victim.

Wheaton Crime: Armed Robbery Near Einstein High School Running Track

Montgomery County police have released the latest crime report for the Fourth District, from Nov. 19-27. The list published here is not comprehensive, but rather selects incidents that occurred in or near Wheaton.  An armed robbery occurred near the running track at Albert Einstein High School, 11135 Newport Mill Road, Kensington, on Wednesday, Nov. 21 at 12:05 p.m.  The suspects threatened the victim with a weapon and obtained property. An aggravated assault occurred in the 12220 block of Connecticut Avenue, Silver Spring, on Sunday, Nov. 25.  The suspect is known to the victim.              Arrested: female, 42, from Silver Spring. Pr. George's Sheriff's Deputies Catch Thanksgiving Carjacker Suspects

Father in the car with young daughter was approached by male suspects with a gun, according to the Sheriff's Office.

  Prince George's Sheriff's Deputies arrested two male suspects who allegedly robbed and carjacked a man and his young daughter at gunpoint on Thanksgiving. The Sheriff's office alleges Francis Holmes and James Gross approached the man as he was parked in the 3200 block of Taylor Street in Mt. Rainer. One of the suspects pointed a silver handgun at the victim when he got out of the car and took his wallet, cell phone and vehicle keys, according to the Sheriff's Office. The victim was able to remove his daughter before the suspects fled the scene in his car. Police Search for Leisure World Armed Robbery Suspect

Montgomery County police are asking for the public's help in identifying a suspect involved in an armed robbery that occurred in the Leisure World shopping center the night before Thanksgiving. Police have released surveillance footage showing the suspect using the victim’s credit card at a CVS store at 12209 Veirs Mill Road, in Wheaton. The suspect is seen in the videos with his face still masked as he enters the store and makes his transaction at the cash register. The suspect is described as a black male, approximately 20 years old, 5-10″, and weighing approximately 200 pounds.  He was wearing a black Northface windbreaker with a hood, dark blue jeans, and a skull cap. Police: Man Held for Sex Shop Robbery Confessed to String of Stickups

A man arrested Saturday for allegedly robbing an adult store on Rockville Pike at gunpoint faces charges in six other armed robberies after police say he confessed to a string of incidents in Gaithersburg, Germantown, Kensington and Rockville dating to Jan. 11. Ramon Michael Gunn, 25, of the 11400 block of Rockville Pike, in North Bethesda, was under police surveillance on Saturday night when he allegedly robbed Night Dreams at around 10:45 p.m. Gunn brandished what appeared to be a handgun and demanded cash, according to Montgomery County police.
