PHOTO GALLERY: KVFD Breaks Ground on 9/11 Memorial

The Kensington Volunteer Fire Department launched a Buy-a-Brick campaign to allow citizens to express their support for the new 9/11 memorial in honor of those who lost their lives responding to the 9/11 attack.

The Kensington Volunteer Fire Department  launched a Buy-a-Brick campaign to allow citizens to express their support for the new 9/11 Memorial being built in honor to those who lost their lives responding to the 9/11 attack. The volunteer fire department broke ground on the memorial on Saturday, April 2nd. 

The memorial will be located on the northern side of Station 5 at Connecticut and Plyers Mill Road, and will feature a 16-foot, burned and twisted steel beam from the point of impact at one of the World Trade Center towers.
