Whiz Kid: Sutton Chiorini

This week's Whiz Kid is a finalist in the Gaithersburg Book Festival short story contest.

Every week, Kensington Patch will feature a local kid who has done something remarkable, whether at school, church or in the neighborhood. We want to hear about these amazing children and teens, and we will select one each week as the Kensington Patch Whiz Kid. This week's Whiz Kid is a short story contest finalist from Bethesda-Chevy Chase.

  • Whiz Kid Sutton Chiorini
  • Accomplishment: Chiorini is a finalist in the Gaithersburg Book Festival short story contest.
  • Key to Awesomeness: Kensington resident and B-CC student Chiorini is one of 12 finalists in the Gaithersburg Book Festival short story competition. 114 students from Maryland, Virginia and Washington, D.C. submitted stories, and judges selected 12 finalists and 10 honorable mentions. Read Chiorini's story, "The Words We Don't Say," and then head to the festival on Saturday, May 21, to show support for Chiorini as she reads her story at the festival's Coffee House. First, second and third place winners will be selected and will win $100, $50, and $25 gift certificates, respectively, to Barnes & Noble.
