MCPS Postpones Middle School Presentation

Community meeting scheduled for Thursday will be rescheduled.

Thursday's presentation on the proposed middle school in Rock Creek Hills Park has been postponed, Montgomery County Public Schools announced today.

There are other school events scheduled for Thursday, making it hard for community members to attend, project manager Dennis Cross said in an e-mail to Patch.

MCPS has not set a new date for the presentation, but it will be "in the immediate future," according to a posting from Cross on MCPS's website.

"This postponement should not be construed as a delay in the process," Cross wrote on the site.

MCPS had planned to present the results of its ongoing feasibility study to the community Thursday at Westland Middle School in Bethesda. In past meetings, residents debated prosed layouts for the new school and voiced complaints about the site-selection process.
