Einstein Students Get Flyer on 'Overcoming' Homosexuality

MCPS says it can't stop non-profits from distributing literature.

Albert Einstein High School students were sent home with more than just their report cards last week.

A flyer from Parents and Friends of Ex-Gays & Gays went home with students, explaining that people have a choice on whether to be gay, Fox 5 reported.

The flyer, which is available on Maryland Juice, explains that people "with unwanted same-sex attractions can seek help and information on overcoming their feelings."

Montgomery County Public Schools told Fox 5 that so long as a group is a community non-profit, it can distribute its literature four times a year when report cards go out, and PFOX meets that standard.

Peter Sprigg, a PFOX board member, told Fox 5 that the flyer does not disparage homosexuals but instead promotes tolerance for "ex-gays."
