Town Council Will Discuss Street Lamps at Tonight's Meeting

Kensington is considering replacing the bulbs with LED lights.

Tonight, the Kensington Town Council will vote on whether to approve the purchase of 11 LED lights to be installed in the decorative lamps on Howard Avenue.

The meeting starts at 7 p.m. tonight in .

The town received a grant from the state to place the energy-efficient light fixtures in the lamps, Assistant Town Manager Matt Hoffman said in an e-mail. There are 25 decorative lamps along Howard Avenue, and the grant money would cover LED fixtures for 11 of them, he said.

Tonight's vote will be on whether to authorize Town Manager Sanford Daily to purchase the fixtures with the grant money.
