Town Council Will Discuss Sector Plan Tonight

The council will vote on design guidelines and an addition to the plan's text.

At the behest of the County Council, Kensington is discussing some of its proposed sector plan's finer points at a meeting tonight, voting on whether to approve design guidelines and add text to the plan.

The meeting starts at 7 p.m. in the town hall, and the council will decide on whether to follow two recommendations from the Revitalization Committee. The first is to , which layout a template for how revitalization will look in Kensington. The second is to add text targeting it for redevelopment.

The county's Planning, Housing and Economic Development Committee asked the town to consider these issues before Feb. 6, when the committee will reconvene to further discuss the sector plan. The town was also asked to draft a moderately priced-housing policy, and it has scheduled a public hearing on the issue for Feb. 13.
