Meeting Preview: Kensington Town Council

Kensington's first town council meeting of the fiscal year will be held this Monday.

On Monday, July 2, the Kensington Town Council will hold its first meeting of the new fiscal year, which begins on July 1.

The meeting will begin at about 7:30 p.m., directly following an organizational meeting at 7 p.m.

Newly elected Councilmember Tracey Furman, who was sworn in earlier today, will be taking her seat for the first time at the meeting.

On the agenda are the appointment of the audit committee, which includes Jeff Capron, Leslie Olson and Kerry Thompson, and the renewals of two town contracts. 

The first is Kensington’s yearlong contract with the Montgomery County Police Department, which typically provides the town with around 35 hours of service per month.

The second is the town’s yearlong contract with Maier Warner, a public relations firm Kensington has used for several years.
