Smoke Causes Evacuation at Einstein

No fire-related injuries reported

Albert Einstein High School on Newport Mill Road in Kensington was evacuated today after a suspected electrical fire caused smoke in the building. No fire-related injuries to students or staff were reported.

"We are not aware of any injuries," said Dana Tofig, spokesman for the Montgomery County Public School system. "We take any fire seriously, and so the building was evacuated."

Tofig said an electrical fire is thought to be the cause of the smoke but a final determination would be made by county firefighters.
