A foreign exchange student living in the home of a Potomac teacher says the man used an iPad to record her in the shower.

Darrien Lamont Tucker, 39, of the 10800 block of Deborah Drive in Potomac, has been charged with five counts of conducting visual surveillance of another person in a private place without that person’s consent and with prurient intent, according to the Montgomery County Police Department.

Tucker teaches physical education at the McLean School of Maryland in Potomac.

Police were contacted June 1 by the reported victim, who is an 18-year-old, female foreign exchange student living with Tucker’s family. The teen said that on May 27 and May 28, as she was showering, she noticed that an Apple iPad was slid under the bathroom door.

As a response, the victim took her phone into the bathroom to record the iPad being pushed underneath the bathroom door on the following two days. On May 31, the victim placed a video camera in the hallway outside of the bathroom door, which reportedly captured Tucker placing the iPad under the door while the victim was in the shower, police said.

During an interview with police, Tucker admitted placing the iPad under the bathroom door and videotaping the victim.

On June 3, Montgomery County detectives arrested Tucker, who is now released on bond.

There is no indication that Tucker engaged in this type of behavior outside of the home, police said. Anyone with questions on the case should call 240-773-6710.
