Police Blotter: March 28 - April 5

Police released recent crime information on April 14.

Montgomery County Police released a recent crime summary for the week of March 28 through April 5, which included a bank robbery and an attempted robbery.

April 1: An attempted robbery occurred in the 10500 block of Connecticut Ave around 12:15 p.m. The victim — an adult male — accepted a ride from an acquaintance. Instead of taking the victim home, the suspect drove (in a maroon Oldsmobile sedan) to the parking lot of a grocery store and assaulted the victim and attempted to take his wallet and cell phone. Witnesses intervened and the victim escaped from the vehicle. A second suspect was in the vehicle, but witnesses said that she was yelling for the other suspect to stop the assault. Police are looking for a 26-year-old white male, who is about 5 foot 7 inches tall and 184 pounds, and a 20- to 25-year-old white female.

March 31: at 3720 Farragut Ave., after 1 p.m. on Thursday. Two suspects (black males with beards and mustaches, 40- to 50-years-old, 6 feet tall) entered the bank. One suspect posed as a customer and asked to speak with a manager. When the bank employee left the secured teller area, the suspect tried to force his way in and threatened to shoot the employee. Both suspects entered the teller area and took cash from the teller drawers. The suspects fled on foot.
