National Night Out Is Tonight

Here are some locations where you can gather with neighbors and officials to talk about public safety.

It's National Night Out tonight, and although there's no organized event in Kensington, you don't have to travel far to find a meetup.

Founded more than 25 years ago, National Night Out is designed as a community celebration to promote public safety in neighborhoods.

Here are some places you can go to take part in the event:

, 2450 Lyttonsville Road, in Chevy Chase, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.
Mid-County Community Rec Center, 2004 Queensguard Road, in Wheaton, from 5 to 8 p.m.
Northwood/North Four Corners, Forest Knolls Pool at 11105 Foxglove Lane, in Wheaton from 7 to 9 p.m

Also, if you're interested in driving down to Takoma Park, at Piney Branch Elementary.
