Lightning Causes Electrical Issues in North Bethesda Home

Lightning surges may have caused the electrical wires in the basement walls to melt.

Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service is investigating a possible fire in the walls of a single-family home in the 11000 block of Creek Shore Place in North Bethesda.

"The service lines going to the home are down," said Assistant Chief Scott Graham.

He added that lightning surges have the potential to take lines down, and may have caused the electrical wires in the basement walls to melt.
