No Injuries in Kensington Parkway Fire

A fire in the 10200 block of Kensington Parkway on Saturday afternoon, June 9, brought out two fire alarm units, but injured no one.

A heavy fire that began in a ground-level apartment in the 10200 block of Kensington Parkway at around 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 9, was mostly extinguished within 20 minutes, according to Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service Capt. Oscar Garcia and Assistant Chief Scott Graham.

The fire extended into a second-floor apartment directly above the ground-floor apartment. Two fire alarm units were dispatched to the scene, but the second unit was not used in full, Graham said.

No injuries to the occupants of the building or to the firefighters were reported, although smoke did travel to other parts of the building, and occupants were evacuated while the fire was extinguished, Graham added.
