Hard-boiled Detective Blues! George Pelecanos will read with The Nighthawks sometime between 2-4pm on Howard Avenue in Old Town Kensington. Don't miss it!

George Pelecanos will be joining The Nighthawks, reading from his latest book! Sometime between 2-4pm. Don't miss it! Hard-boiled detective blues!

This family-friendly street festival celebrates the International Day of the Book in historic Old Town Kensington.
Over 100 local authors, poets, publishers, literary groups, and community organizations line Howard Avenue for three blocks.
Live music featuring The Nighthawks and Atomic Swing Club, and others. Author readings, poetry open mic, chess playing, food trucks, free books, rare book evaluations. art exhibits.
Children's Program includes storytelling, fun with math, art activities, magical story times, a miniature horse, a scavenger hunt, and more!
Fun for the whole family! All activities are free.
Co-sponsored by the Town of Kensington and the Pauli Bellet Foundation Catalan Library. Rain or shine. 
Also Gala CREST craft fair in conjunction with the book festival, on Armory Ave.
