Kenny Rittenhouse Quintet with Jazz Vocalist, Darden Purcell

Kenny
Rittenhouse leads one of the hardest swinging jazz groups in the greater
DC metro area.  A member of The Smithsonian Jazz Masterworks
Orchestra and The US Army Blues Jazz Ensemble, the highly
regarded 
trumpeter
has performed with jazz artists such as Larry Willis, Ralph
Peterson, Don Braden, Buck Hill, and Steve Wilson. 
 
Rittenhouse's
ensembles have appeared locally at Blues Alley, Bohemian Caverns,
and Twins Jazz Club.  On it's most recent CD, "New York Suite," his
septet performs with intensity and fervor, focusing on the concept
of "swing" and paying homage to the blue note
recording artists of the 60's.  Darden Purcell's fast scatting
riffs and smooth ballads round out a fabulous program
of jazz to kick off the season. Bring a friend and
