Donation Based Meditation Class

Help raise money for Project Haiti while getting in a 30 minute meditation practice.

All levels welcome.  Suggested donation $5-$10 per person (cash donations preferred, $10 credit card minimum).

In the Yoga Sutras, Patanjali defines yoga as “yogah citta vritti nirodhah”—that is, yoga is the cessation of the fluctuations of the mind.  Meditation is the yogic path toward cultivating stillness of mind allowing us to live more fully in present awareness and being.  Similar to our yoga asana practice, meditation is an art and science that requires steadfast practice (abhyasa) and non-attachment or the willingness to let go (vairagya).  In this class, you will be given the sacred time and space to develop a meditation practice and have the opportunity to learn different meditation techniques to guide you on this journey toward inner peace and joy.  This is a donation-based class benefiting Project Haiti—a ground-breaking trauma-informed recovery program offering the healing practices of yoga, meditation, and mindfulness for female survivors of sexual and other violence living in the tent cities of Port-au-Prince.
