What's the Next Step for a New Wheaton Library?

Two community meetings were held in June for the county's library and community recreation center renovation project.

With two community meetings under their belt, the team behind the Wheaton library and community recreation center renovation is moving forward.

Project manager Jan Wilson of the Montgomery County Department of General Services said that they are starting the process of putting together concept designs.

"We are trying to get a biweekly progress meeting going," Wilson said.

This concept design team includes three community members: Paul Lofgren from the Mid-County Recreation Advisory Board, Diana Dubrawsky from the Wheaton Library Advisory Committee, and Robert Shoenberg from the Mid-County Citizens Advisory Committee.

Wilson anticipates another public presentation in the fall to get feedback on the designs.
