Week in Review

Here is this week's roundup of top headlines.

News: More than 1,0oo customers were reported to be without power in parts of Kensington Friday morning, after rains and high winds caused tree branches to fall which snapped power lines.  Power was restored to most areas by afternoon.

Bad weather also delayed the long-anticipated opening of the Intercounty Connector ("ICC") earlier in the week. The first section of the road opened on Wednesday, 24 hours later than originally scheduled.

Government: Maryland took a step closer to approving same-sex marriages Thursday when the Senate narrowly passed the measure. The bill now moves to the House, where it is expected to have an easier road to passage.
