Water Main Break Stalls Traffic on Connecticut

Two northbound lanes are closed between Denfeld Avenue and Adams Drive.

Traffic is stalled on Connecticut Avenue north of Kensington after a water main break forced the closure of two northbound lanes between Denfeld Avenue and Adams Drive, according to WSSC.

Crews are on site working on the broken 8-inch pipe, WSSC spokesman I.J. Hudson said, and it may take four to six hours to complete repairs.

Cars are being directed into the right lane as Connecticut Avenue approaches Viers Mill Road, he said.

WSSC has shut down the pipe's flow, which will affect service to 34 customers in the area, Hudson said.
