Vigil Held for Heather McGuire Tuesday
McGuire's mother, family and friends remember the victim of the murder-suicide on March 13.
The mother of the last week told ABC7 that she feared for her daughter's life.
Jo Anne Kenney, the mother of Heather McGuire, held a vigil Tuesday along with McGuire's family and friends at the site of her daughter's death in Kensington.
Police say McGuire's estranged husband, Phil Gilberti, shot McGuire on March 13, after a dispute and tossed her from his vehicle during morning rush hour. Later that evening, Gilberti took his own life in Rockville.

“This should have never happened to my daughter. She did everything that she could to try to protect her life," Kenney told ABC7 Tuesday evening.
Yet, McGuire lost her life only days after Gilberti was arrested for breaking the protective order against him

"I'm going to try to change things for other people because that's what she would have wanted," Kenney said.
