Ticketing Machine to be Removed from Kensington Marc Station
Commuters will have to purchase tickets on train or at other locations.
The Maryland Transit Administration will remove the Amtrack ticket vending machine from the Kensington Marc Station.
"We are moving the Amtrak Ticket vending machine (TVM) because of low sales and it costs us more to operate it, than we are getting out of it," said Patrick A. Fleming in a letter to Maryland delegate Al Carr. Fleming works in the Office of External Affairs for the Maryland Transit Administration.
Commuters will now have to purchase their tickets elsewhere. Fleming said that one-time tickets can be purchased on the train, with no additional surcharge. He also suggests purchasing monthly passes or buying tickets from Union Station.
