Severe Thunderstorm Watch Issued for Montgomery County
National Weather Service warns of heavy rains tonight.
The National Weather Service put out a severe thunderstorm warning for Montgomery County tonight, warning of heavy rains and possible lightning.
The storm is currently over Adelphi, according to an NWS release, and is moving southeast at about 20 mph. The storm could bring wind gusts of up to 40 mph, according to NWS, and the storm is producing frequent lightning strikes.
The Service recommends people stay inside and try to avoid long-distance car travel, as roadways could become flooded as the night goes on.
