The warning remains in effect through 11 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 14.

The National Weather Service has issued a severe thunderstorm warning for Montgomery County through 11 p.m. Sunday.

Significant cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm. Heavy rainfall may cause flooded roads in some areas, especially those in low-lying locales or near streams and creeks.

These storms may produce tornadoes with little or no advanced warning, according to NWS. Residents are urged to seek safe shelter indoors until the storm passes and remain alert for additional warnings.
