Maryland's Tax-Free Week Runs Through Saturday

Qualifying apparel and footwear under $100 is exempt from sales tax.

If you're looking to save money on back-to-school clothes, this is the week to shop.

The Comptroller of Maryland has declared Aug. 14-20 as Shop Maryland Week, and anyone buying qualifying clothes and footwear will be exempt from the state's 6 percent sales tax.

The program includes shirts, hats, shoes and pants under $100 each. For a full list of tax-exempt items, visit the comptroller's website.
