Shop Maryland Tax-Free Week appeared to get off to a robust start Sunday, at least based on the crowds at the Prime Outlet stores in Hagerstown.
The Nike Store and other popular brand-name shops were buzzing with bargain hunters taking advantage of the annual moratorium on sales tax on qualifying items.
The extra savings ends in Maryland on Saturday, Aug. 17.
