It's Back: Extreme Heat Expected Today

Temperatures are going sky-high today, and don't expect much relief tonight.

Hopefully you enjoyed the beautiful day Wednesday because the heat is returning today.

Highs barely reached 90 Wednesday, but the National Weather Service has issued a heat advisory for today until 8 p.m.

Temperatures are expected to reach 95, and with the humidity factored in, feel as hot as 105 degrees, according to NWS. Expect the hottest temperatures from 2 – 5 p.m.

Tonight, temperatures will drop to the high 70s, but the humidity is expected to rise, making for a sticky, uncomfortable evening. 

High temperatures coupled with high humidity can be dangerous, particularly to the very young, the elderly and people with health conditions exacerbated by extreme heat.

NWS recommends doing any outside work in the early morning or later at night and drinking lots of water. If you can, stay out of the sun and in the air conditioning and be sure to check on anyone who doesn’t have air conditioning.
