Updated: Debris Slows Down Rockville Pike in White Flint

NBC Washington reports that a burning pile of trash has closed all northbound lanes at Old Georgetown Road.

Update, 11:38 a.m.: The garbage fire has been extinguished, and crews are at work loading the debris into another waste truck, said Capt. Oscar Garcia, spokesman for MCFRS.

Garcia could not specify when the northbound lanes will reopen, but traffic is being diverted around the blockage for the time being.
