Connecticut Avenue Reopened in Kensington After Water Main Break

Southbound lanes were closed after a 78-year-old water main broke in town Monday evening.

All southbound lanes of Connecticut Avenue through Kensington, MD are now open to trafffic, according to Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission officials, after a 78-year-old water main broke Monday evening.

The water main break caused some traffic delays Tuesday and Wednesday as WSSC worked to fix the 8-inch water main and roadway between Knowles Avenue and Saul Road, a WSSC press release stated.

The break affected 18 customers and their service was returned Monday night, officials said, but two lanes in the 9800 block of Connecticut Avenue remained closed through Wednesday.
