Calling Kensington Spellers! Spelling Bee at Chevy Chase Library

The Chevy Chase Library hosts a spelling bee for adults 55 years old and up.

The Chevy Chase Library is bringing back a form of community entertainment that used to be for all ages (think: Little House on the Prairie), but which now is mostly for the school-aged set: the spelling bee.

Montgomery County residents 55 years old and up are invited to participate in a Senior Spelling Bee on Saturday, April 27, at 10 a.m. at the Chevy Chase Library (8005 Connecticut Ave.), Friends of the Library, Montgomery County, announced.

"The Spelling Bee will provide older adults in the community the opportunity to showcase and celebrate their spelling abilities through lifelong knowledge and learning. The competition will help emphasize the use of public libraries as a resource tool for studying and as a community center for continual learning," according to a Friends of the Library statement.
