A rainy day, a congressman's big chance and a tax-free week.

  1. The National Weather Service is predicting a rainy day, with a high of 82 and a 70 percent chance of precipitation. Same goes for tonight, when the low will reach 64 degrees.
  2. Rep. Chris Van Hollen, a Kensington Democrat, to Congress's so-called "super committee" last week, and our columnist said this could be the Maryland leader's chance to shine.
  3. It's a tax-free week in Maryland, and qualifying clothes and footwear will be exempt from the state's 6 percent sales tax through Saturday. We'll have more on this later this morning.
