Support Breast Cancer Awareness Month by Shopping

Show your support by purchasing from these local and national shops.

 

During Breast Cancer Awareness Month, pink-themed products and items with pink ribbons are appearing at stores all over. Patch has put together this guide to help you find some local and national products where you can help support the cause.

Additionally, you can participate in one or more of the local events, such as walks, happy hours, sports events and more.

Where/When: On the PGFD website throughout the month of October.

What: Purchase a PINK PGFD shirt to support Breast Cancer Awareness.

Pricing: $15 for a t-shirt; up to $45 for a hoodie.

 

Light Maryland Pink

Where/When: Anywhere, the month of October.

What: Sponsored by Komen Maryland, the Light Maryland Pink campaign has sought to raise awareness of breast cancer issues, with businesses, buildings, government offices and more lit up in a pink color during October. Turn your house pink to support the program, pick up a Sassy pink mood light from Mood-factor at a Lowe’s store, and $.25 for each bulb sold will be donated to Komen Maryland.

Pricing: $2.98 for the pink bulb at Lowe’s.

 

Calendars, Bracelets and Dog Collars

Where/When: The month of October, on the Critters for the Cure website.

What: Purchase calendars, bracelets, dog collars and more to support Critters for the Cure.

Pricing: Items range from $2.50 to $19.95 on the Critters for the Cure website.

 

Caribou Coffee

Where/When: Caribou Coffee locations nationwide (there are more than 10 in the area) during October.

What: Caribou Coffee is donating proceeds of the sale of “Amy’s Blend” coffee to local charities. At the Bethesda location, proceeds will benefit the Montgomery County General Hospital’s oncology unit.

Pricing: $8.95 for half a pound of coffee; $15.95 for one pound of coffee.

 

Maryland Terrapins “Fight Maryland” Breast Cancer Hat

Where/When: On the UMterps website, throughout the month of October.

What: An Under Armour adjustable hat featuring a “Fight Maryland” logo with the pink ribbon as the “I” in “Fight” to help support Breast Cancer Awareness.

Pricing: $27.99.

 

A Crucial Catch

Where/When: The month of October.

Why go: The NFL launched its “A Crucial Catch” campaign this year to raise awareness of the importance of annual screenings for women. Baltimore and Washington are among the 17 NFL markets participating in the fundraising and awareness event, where apparel worn by players, coaches and referees, plus game balls and pink coins used during games in October, will be auctioned off, to support the American Cancer Society’s CHANGE program. You can also support the campaign by purchasing replica pink-themed items on the NFL’s website.

Pink Ribbon Products

Where/When: On the Pink Ribbon Shop website year round.

What: Purchase a variety of products—from King Cakes and sunglasses to scarves, wineglasses and many more items.
