Special Spicy Sauce Featured At Kensington Farmers Market

At Anna Saint John's stand at the Kensington Farmers' Market, a special sauce is popular among customers.

For over a year, Anna Saint John has been bringing her special sauce, dressings, and other delicacies to the .

Saint John, of Silver Spring, calls her special sauce “Srirachachacha” because she said, “We have more chacha than Sriracha.”

The peppers are what make up the additional "chacha" of her sauce and the Indonesian-added flavor of garlic, vinegar, sugar, and salt act as the original Sriracha part.

She chose to sell her products at the Kensington Farmers' Market because she wanted it to be “a hub tying market with products that complement other foods.”

“I couldn’t live without Anna’s 'Srirachachacha' sauce,” Leslie Bloom, one of her loyal customers, said.

Bloom, an author of a seafood cookbook, said her bag of clams from the farmers market only needed some lemon, garlic, and Anna’s srirachachacha sauce to cook them to perfection.

In addition to her special sauce, Saint John sells homemade biscuits ready to bake, ravioli, sauces, marinades, jams, dressings, cornmeal, and even treats for dogs. That idea came to her when she noticed that her Kensington customers are dog lovers, and it's been a hit.

During the week, she runs her own catering service— Catering by Anna Saint John— out of a Wheaton storefront.
