Area stores have the winter necessities for when this year's big snow hits.

Since the first snow flurries have fallen, it's time to stock up on wintery supplies. Just incase the snow falls like last year, homes should be prepared with shovels and salt. Here's a quick guide to pick up supplies in town.

: This hardware store has an entire aisle dedicated to shovels, ice scrapers and other winter supplies. Shovels range in price from $12.99 for plastic shovels to $35 for the more heavy-duty metal ones. Several different brands of salt are available for $3.99 for a 10 pound bag to $33 for a 50 pound bag. Hardware city also has a variety of ice scrapers and brushes.

: The grocery store doesn't have as big of a selection as the area hardware store, but a small selection of winter supplies can be found by the entrance of the store. Ice melter pellets are availabe in 10 pound bags for $2.49. A basic plastic shovel with a wooden handle costs $28.99, and several ice scrapers are also available.
