Kensington Safeway Cited after Complaint

Information about a food safety inspection at Safeway was supplied by Data Montgomery and the Montgomery County Health Department.

A July 2 food safety check of Safeway, at 10541 Connecticut Ave. in Kensington, resulted in two violations that were corrected immediately, according to Data Montgomery, an online database of government operations.

Inspectors found that both hot and cold foods were not being kept at the required temperatures. The grocery store was inspected after a complaint, Data Montgomery reported.

Three other food establishments in Kensington were inspected in July, but no violations were found. Three restaurants in Montgomery County—in Bethesda, Gaithersburg and Silver Spring—were found to have severe enough violations to close during July.
