IPic Theater Slated for White Flint

Eight-screen luxury theater will be part of Pike & Rose development.

If you're a moviegoer for whom theater seating doesn't quite cut it, iPic's large micro-suede chairs and in-show food service might be more your speed.

The high-end theater chain is planning to expand to White Flint as part of Federal Realty's Pike & Rose project, the developer announced this month.

The eight-screen theater will boast in-house fine dining, ahead-of-time ticket reservations, and, at an extra cost, "premium plus" seating that offers reclining chairs, pillows and blankets.

“IPic’s approach to creating a best-in-class guest experience is what Federal Realty strives to do with each of our properties," Federal Realty President Don Wood said in a news release. "Having iPic as our first anchor at this development sets the stage for an exciting mix of tenants to come, and we are proud to have them premiere their experience with us on the East Coast."

The 25-acre Pike & Rose project is planned for a mix of retail and commercial space, and Federal Realty is aiming to open phase one of the development, including iPic, in 2014.
