From pistachios and maple pecans to dried cherries and apricots, the tallest sister in this company has brought a family tradition to the Kensington Farmers Market.

New to the Kensington Farmers’ Market is the Four Short Sisters homemade granola.

Her three sisters are 5 feet 2 inches, 5 feet, and 4 feet 10 inches tall.

Even though they no longer live in the same state, she said she named her company in homage to them. Rector offers a variety of flavors to let you create your own mix. First, you choose from two different bases—(1) maple, olive oil, pumpkin and sesame seeds or (2) honey with butter base.

Then, you select one scoop of nuts and one scoop of fruits.

At the market, you will see three different nuts and fruits. Rector usually offers honey walnuts, maple pecans, toasted almonds, or pistachios, and for the fruit, she has dried cherries, blueberries, cranberries, or apricot.

After you’ve made your selections, Rector mixes them in a bowl and puts them in a 14-ounce bag. The granola mix costs $8 per bag and $1 for an extra scoop.

In the future, she said she plans on selling granola bars at the farmers’ market.
