Bites Nearby: Il Pizzico

You could stand on a corner and look around until a restaurant sign draws you in, but we've got a better idea. Each week, Kensington Patch picks a great restaurant either in town or nearby that's worth checking out. Here's this week's choice:

Widely regarded as one of Montgomery County's best Italian restaurants, Il Pizzico doesn't disappoint. The wine list is extensive, the pastas are fresh, and the meats and fish are succulent and well prepared.

The Antipasti are classic Italian: Prosciutto e Mozzarella, Insalata di Mare, Polpettini Sliders and Caprese, to name several. You can't go wrong with any of the preceding, and the other options are worth trying as well. 

One is immediately struck by the attention to detail at Il Pizzico: Water is offered as soon as your cup is empty; bread and olive oil are prompt to arrive as soon as you're seated; and servers are attentive to specific requests.

Il Pizzico also features an impressive wine bar, with a bartender who is more artist than service provider, eager to suggest wines and offer tastings.

With a parking lot off to the side, parking isn't an issue. However, be sure to keep a sharp eye out—the location is easy to miss as you drive past.
