Antique of the Week: Vintage Chair Set

The pair of chairs is available at Sage Consignment Furniture.

As everyone in Kensington knows, Antique Row is one of the community’s points of pride. Howard Avenue and its side streets are lined with shops specializing in antique furniture, rugs, vintage toys, used books and more. This large presence in the community sparked our feature, Antique of the Week, where we will showcase a different item or curiosity each week to bring attention to pieces from the past.

This week, we’re featuring a pair of American chairs. Although Michel Huebner, the proprietor of , said that the chairs should be refurbished, they are well maintained. They may be from the 1930s or 1940s. They are comfortable, too, but only those who stop by will be able to know for sure, Huebner said. The pair of chairs go for $280.

You can find many other bargains at Sage Consignment, where Huebner keeps the prices low to promote the recycling of furniture. The store is located on the west side of Howard Avenue at 4228-L Howard Ave., and Huebner can be reached at 301-530-5723.
