BLOG: Owl Chocolates for Noyes Children's Library

Owl chocolates make their debut in Kensington this weekend as a fundraiser to benefit the Noyes Children's Library Foundation, which provides funds to help operate Noyes Library.

Starting Friday, July 13, owl chocolate candies will be at JennyCakes Bakery and the Kensington Row Bookshop in Kensington, as a fundraiser created by Hannah Meyer, a middle school student and Kensington resident. All proceeds will benefit the Noyes Children's Library Foundation, which has raised funds to keep Noyes Library open during the recent fiscal crisis. The chocolates are available in white or milk chocolate in small (suggested donation of 50 cents) and large ($1) sizes at JennyCakes Bakery Fridays and Saturdays and at Kensington Row Bookshop Fridays through Sundays during the month of July.

Hannah says she "loves molding chocolates, reading, little kids and the Noyes Library” so she decided to make molded chocolate owls (the symbol of Noyes Library) for her Bat Mitzvah project at Temple Emanuel. The chocolates, molds and bags were generously donated by The Little Bitts Shop, a cake decorating and candy supplies store in Wheaton.
