Upcoming at the Strathmore

See what's going on this week at the Music Center at Strathmore.

April 29:

Los Angeles Electric 8 brings their music to the Mansion at Strathmore at 7:30 p.m. Hugo Aguayo, Tom Farrell, Philip Graulty, Chelsea Green Kai Kurosawa, Marc, Nimoy, Felix Salazar and JohnPaul Trotter make up the octet, which is making its east coast debut.

The BSO performs Brahms’ Second Symphony at 8 p.m. Conductor Cornelius Meister will make his BSO debut. The performance will feature violinist Jonathan Carney. Be sure to reserve a spot to attend a free lecture—Symphonic Exploration—before the performance.

May 1:

Washington Performing Arts Society presents violinist virtuoso Itzhak Perlman and Rohan de Silva on piano. Selections from Mozart, Beethoven and Saint-Saens will be performed.

May 2:

David Crosby and Graham Nash will perform classic hits from ths 60s and 70s as well as new, never-before played songs. Tickets are still available for the show, which will start at 8 p.m.

May 3 and 4:

Celebrate Mother's Day early with this week's specialty tea. John Dassoulas will play piano while guests enjoy hand-crafted tea and a light meal.

May 5:

Nils Lofgren (of Bruce Springsteen's E Street Band) will perform an acoustic rock show with all three Lofgren Brothers and Mary Ann Redmond. Tickets are $22.50 to $55.
