Upcoming at the Strathmore

Check out one of these events happening at the Strathmore this week.

Feb. 25:

Tonight's Friday Night Eclectic presents The Funk Ark. As per usual, enjoy $2 PBRs from 8 to 9 p.m. and a hip hop dance party. Tickets are $12 at the door.

Feb. 26: Video Games Live

Video Games Live features members of the National Philharmonic and National Philharmonic Chorale. The groups will perform as a symphony orchestra with video game visuals and lighting and special effects. The performance will include songs from video games such as Mario™, Interactive Guitar Hero™, Zelda™, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix™ and much more. A Guitar Hero™ competition and a costume contest will be held before the concert.

Take 5: A Jazz Countdown will take place on the Education Wing at the Strathmore. The Levine Jazz Quintet and CityDance Ensemble will present jazz standards in honor of the 6th Anniversary of the Music Center at Strathmore. Tickets are $20.

March 1:

Afternoon Tea will be served, as usual, in the Shapiro Music Room at the Strathmore Mansion. Tea is specially made for the Strathmore by Master Tea Blender John Harney, and is served with a light lunch. Reservations should be made.

March 2: Randy Newman

The Birchmere and the Strathmore present Randy Newman—film composer, songwriter and musician. Newman has won an Oscar, five Grammys and three Emmys and will bring his award winning performance to the Strathmore.

March 3: Peking Acrobats 25th Anniversary Tour

The Peking Acrobats will celebrate their Silver Anniversary at the Strathmore with a new act. Live music will be provided by The Women's Peace Orchestra of China for the first time.
