The Kensington Historical Society is hosting free concerts in Howard Avenue Park this summer. At 10 a.m., Esther Haynes and Keith Grimes will treat Kensingtonians to jazz, swing, blues and bluegrass. The park is across from the MARC station, at 3701 Howard Ave.

Saturday, June 25: 9/11 Memorial Dedication Ceremony

Kensington Volunteer Fire Department is hosting a dedication ceremony at the 9/11 memorial on the grounds of . The department a piece of twisted metal from the World Trade Center and a slab of concrete from the Pentagon, and those artifacts are part of the memorial. The ceremony begins at 10 a.m. on the station grounds, at 10620 Connecticut Ave.
